Turmeric is a plant belonging to the ginger family that lives in the tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia. It has been used for centuries not only as a spice but also because of its healing effect. In Indian medicine, it is  primarily a digestive, blood purifying, rejuvenating agent,  but it is also used as a universal agent  against fever, infections, joint complaints and liver disease, fullness after fatty foods, heartburn, bloating, intestinal cramps, detoxification.
The active ingredients of turmeric are the various curcumin polyphenolic compounds and their derivatives, curcuminoids. Since the 1990s, a large number of researches have been conducted primarily on  the anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and antitumor effects of curcumin  .
Due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it is used for the prevention and adjunctive treatment of many diseases.

Curcumin:
Its most important active ingredient is curcumin, which gives turmeric its distinctive yellow color and is also a member of a huge group of polyphenols. In addition to being a strong antioxidant, ie it binds harmful free radicals, it has the general health-protective properties of polyphenols and flavonoids.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale):

– Travel malaise, nausea.
– Digestive repair, antispasmodic, windmill.
– Has an appetite suppressant effect.
– Immune booster.
– Anti-inflammatory.

Ginger from the rainforests of tropical Asia is widespread in Europe primarily as a herb. In folk medicine, to treat their diseases and symptoms, use the yellowish-gray root of ginger.

Its aromatic scent and pungent bitter taste are given by the essential oils, gingerols and shogaols produced in the root. The concentration of beneficial substances directly under the peel is the highest, so the root should be consumed only by thin peeling or only thorough washing.

According to some traditions, ginger  improves memory  – Chinese sailors have been chewing ginger for seasickness for thousands of years – but it  does not affect the central nervous system, so it does not cause fatigue or drowsiness as a side effect.  The effect of the plant lies in the essential oil of its root, which reduces irritation of the mucous membranes.

It has an anti-inflammatory effect, which can be used very effectively in case of colds and bronchitis. Folk customs are also indicated for the relief of digestive problems in order to stimulate digestion and increase appetite.

Black pepper (Piper nigrum):

Black pepper is not only a popular spice, but also an herb that has a beneficial effect on our body.

– Improves blood circulation, thereby increasing the supply of oxygen to organs and tissues.
– Reduces arthritis.
– Helps the digestive system, normalizes sluggish bowel movements.
– Reduces intestinal cramping, heartburn and nausea.
– Relieves or even eliminates nervous diarrhea.
– It has a positive effect on stagnant kidney function.
– The presence of pepper in the digestive system promotes and enhances the more efficient absorption of nutrients.
– It has an appetizing effect.

Flavonoids:

The beneficial effects of turmeric are mainly due to special polyphenol compounds such as curcumin and its derivatives, as well as curcuminoids.
The polyphenolic compounds found in red fruits, especially flavonoids, complement well the beneficial properties of turmeric in  several important areas, such as:
– Antioxidant effect.
– Immune system support.
