Vitamin of the digestive system!
Vitamin U: From a
nutritional point of view, the gastrointestinal tract is considered one of the most important organs in the body. A healthy digestive system is the key to achieving optimal health, poor digestion can cause several seemingly independent problems. Healthy eating and stomach health are therefore closely linked.
Vitamin U is one of the names for S-methylmethionine. In 1949, Garnett Cheney published the antiulcer effect of this substance in a study and claimed that it had a protective effect on the gastric and intestinal mucosa and liver. After the word ulcer (ulcer), S-methylmethionine was named vitamin U.
Clinical trial: A
clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of concentrated cabbage juice in the treatment of gastric ulcer. Patients were treated with a ulcer diagnosed at San Quentin Prison in a double-blind control trial. One group received cabbage juice concentrate and the other received placebo. Treatment evaluation was based on repeated X-ray examination of the ulcer. A deadline of 22 days was left for the ulcer to heal. The result of the experiment is that cabbage juice concentrate is an effective aid in the healing of peptic ulcer.
