What are Flavonoids?

The name flavonoids refers to a group of compounds whose members have a similar chemical backbone and are found mainly in the peel and seeds of fruits and vegetables. Flavonoids are produced by plants for their own protection.

It is important to know about the physiological effects of flavonoids, that they act mainly in the digestive and circulatory systems and are absorbed in the intestinal tract. It neutralizes free radicals, ie they have an antioxidant effect, reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. They inhibit thrombosis, increase the elasticity of blood vessel walls. They have an effect on sootome lesions (mutagenesis) and the process of developing malignancies (carcinogenesis).

They lower LDL (“bad” cholesterol) and blood fat (serum tridlyceride) levels. They have a liver and sunscreen effect. They are anti-inflammatory, prevent long-term complications of diabetes mellitus, and have antiviral, antibacterial effects.

How long have we known about Flavonoids?
In 1936, Albert Szent-Györgyi and István Rusznyák were the first to show that two flavonoids (rutin, naringenin) from citrus fruits reduce the fragility and permeability of capillaries, which is why rutin was first named vitamin P. Since then, science has isolated thousands of similar compounds.

What are Flavonoids good for?
Flavonoids increase the body’s antioxidant capacity, which can reduce the cell-destroying effects of free radicals. They support the optimal operation of the defense system.

Red grapes can help the vascular system to function optimally, improve circulation. Through its antioxidant properties, it can help protect cells from the destructive effects of free radicals.

The smallest antioxidant is HYDROGEN :

We burn oxygen slowly, yet it is necessary.
Hydrogen is a new clean energy that slows down aging!

The high hydrogen content enhances the reducing effect. This is the latest and most effective natural method of binding free radicals. Reducing processes in the body are also suitable for the inhibition of damage caused by oxidative stress caused by life functions.

When Hydrogen encounters a free radical in a living organism, it is able to neutralize it. As a result, the free radical immediately loses its cell-damaging effect.

As a result of the research, a large amount of active Hydrogen has been dissolved in the dense molecularly separated fruit concentrate, so that the Hydrogen can be stored well and can reach the free radical scavenging effect as the smallest antioxidant when it enters the body. It has a strong reducing ability that can be measured: ORP -400 mV.

What is an antioxidant effect and what are free radicals?

The antioxidant property of a substance means its ability to bind and neutralize free radicals.
Free radicals are extremely unstable and “aggressive” molecules that try to oxidize cells.
If they are excessively present in our bodies, they can damage vital biological molecules — in the worst case, DNA. This is called oxidative stress.

ORP value:
The ORP value is a number indicating the oxidation and reduction capacity of a solution. The lower the ORP value, the more reducing the solution. In addition to oxygen, the strongest oxidizing agents include acid rain and chlorinated water.

SunCrystal Drink:

Waves of sunlight represent life, carrying the energy and information necessary for our body to function. Many different theories have already been born about the origin of life. However, the developers of the theories also agree that without the light of the Sun, life on Earth would not exist, would cease.

According to “crystal theory,” original earthly life is based on self-replicating crystals. (Representatives of the theory Cairns-Smith and Dr. Dawkins) During a series of experiments with crystals during their production, the discovery was made that a special kind of plant crystals has a startling property. Suitable for storing life-critical information.

Crystal Preparation:
Phase One:  Creation of a crude plant crystal using free energies and an energy collection system. When placed in a suitable medium, crystals fix substances in their structure, which are among the basic building blocks of life: glucose, fructose, ribose, proteins, molecules containing high-energy bonds (ATP, GTP, which provide 95% of the body’s energy needs), amino acids, nucleotides , which include, for example, DNA and RNA.
Second phase: In the second phase, through a process called solar distillation, the crystals collect energy from the light that, when it enters our body, acts directly on the cells. It tunes our cells to the wavelength that carries the “life-giving frequency.” The crystals do this constructive work over and over again, thus helping the information and energy processes of the living organism.

People of today struggle with many health problems. Decreased overall energy levels are one of the reasons for the deterioration of health, the onset of degenerative processes, and the insufficient functioning of restorative mechanisms.
Once in the body, the solution directly supplies and supports our cells with the energy and information that can be used for them. Its consumption helps cells to regenerate, optimizes their function. It slows down the aging process and strengthens our body’s resilience to adverse external environmental influences.
One form of energy is electromagnetism. Particle physics has proven that what we perceive as solids is actually 99% empty space, filled with energy. Understanding that all matter is energy at the same time, it is easier to understand how the human body can interact with the crystallized plant constituents that have been created by utilizing the energy of the sun. Because the energy of light is the foundation of our existence, using it provides an opportunity for our body to reach and maintain a state of overall health.

Sylimarin:
– Regeneration of liver cells.
– Inhibits connective tissue and inflammatory reactions.
– Reduces the number of hepatitis C virus.
– Improves cell insulin sensitivity.
– Increases glutathione and superoxide dismutase levels.

Apigenin:
– Positive effect on doxorubicin-resistant hepatocellular liver cancer.

The liver is one of the most important organs in the human body, performing several functions: detoxifying, producing and storing many vital substances, and producing bile. As a result of its detoxification work, the body is more exposed to toxic substances than other organs.
The most severe form of connective tissue remodeling, liver cirrhosis, usually results from long-term damaging effects. Quality of life changes as early as the onset of liver disease, in addition to indigestion, diarrhea, bloating, and fatigue, sexual desire often decreases, impotence develops in men, and disease progression leads to serious-life-threatening complications.

Sylimarin – St. John’s wort:
Medicines containing the active ingredient of St. John’s wort, sylimarin, are still at the forefront of liver protection in the developed world. The effect of sylimarin is complex, it prevents the effects of substances that damage the liver, and also enhances the regeneration of liver cells.
There have been a number of clinical trials with sylimarin worldwide that have not only shown that patients’ complaints have decreased and their well-being has improved, but that improvements in liver cell function have been measured using objective laboratory methods.
It also increases the levels of glutathione and superoxide dismutase (SOD), which are the strongest antioxidants in our body.

Sylimarin is the hepatoprotective agent of St. John’s wort (Silybum marianum), Dr. Gabriella Lengyel, Prof. Dr. János Fehér Semmelweis University II. Clinic of Internal Medicine According to our open-label studies, long-term use of sylimarin significantly increased the survival time of patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis. The concomitant use of sylimarin and vitamin E can be recommended based on our experimental data.

It is one of the most effective flavonoids for acute and chronic hepatitis.
Mandatory for people with viral hepatitis (B, C).
The main effect of sylimarin is to stabilize the cell membrane and have an antioxidant effect. It can help liver cells to divide, which can reduce the inflammatory response and inhibit fibrogenesis, i.e., connective tissue of the liver tissue, i.e., it helps the liver to regenerate (even in cirrhosis of the liver), significantly increasing survival time.
It can significantly reduce the number of hepatitis C virus in the body.

Molecular biological studies have also shown that it inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells and the hematopoiesis of degenerated cell groups. In addition, it has a beneficial effect on the insulin sensitivity of cells.
Sylimarin increases the amount of natural antioxidants in the body, such as glutathione and the enzyme superoxide dismutase, which neutralizes the superoxide radical.

Apigenin: Apigenin
inhibits hepatitis C virus replication.

Based on a controlled clinical trial published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology, flavonoid extracts standardized for 2nd generation apigenin could represent a breakthrough in future alternative cancer therapies. The results of a clinical trial have shown that apigenin can prevent the recurrence of various cancers after surgery. The 4-year trial was performed in 87 cancer patients who underwent bowel cancer and bowel polyps, respectively. The most important result of the clinical trial was that a significant proportion (93%) of people taking the flavonoid mixture containing standardized apigenin did not relapse, while almost half of the control group not taking apigenin had recurrence of cancer (11).

– Metastatic effect in gastric tumors and melanoma.
– Kempferol inhibits gastric cancer tumor growth.

Kempferol:
Colon cancer, a common cause of cancer-related deaths in both men and women in Western cultures. One of the main reasons for this is thought to be DNA damage caused by persistent oxidative stress. Antioxidants remove free radicals and inhibit tumor processes. A flavonoid called Kaempferol is found in significant amounts in tea, broccoli, red grapes, brussels sprouts and apples. This study investigates the chemopreventive properties of kaempferol. In the experiment, administration of 1,2-dimethylhydrazine induced colon cancer in rats to mimic the development of human colon cancer, making it an ideal model for conducting chemoprevention studies.
Kaempferol supplementation reduced the detrimental effects of 1,2-dimethylhydrazine and optimized the function of antioxidant enzymes such as catalase, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase. The higher the dose of kaempferol supplementation, the more complete the recovery of enzyme function was. The study shows that kempferol can be used safely as a chemopreventive agent for colon cancer.

– Prevents atherosclerosis.
– Antihypertensive effect.
– Inhibitory effect on colon and rectal tumor cell lines.
– Inhibitor of bacterial growth (Helicobacter pylori).

Quercetin:
It has gained a controversial reputation since its discovery and in related laboratory tests, as it became known first as a mutagen and then as an effective anticancer compound. Quercetin in red wine is one of the strongest known antitumor substances besides resveratrol, which directly inhibits the division and proliferation of malignant cells.
It exerts this by stimulating apoptosis. Modification and inhibition of the activity of various enzymes.

Resveratrol and quercetin are effective in inhibiting the growth and proliferation of oral epithelial carcinomas.
Apigenin and quercetin inhibit the growth of melanoma. Quercetin inhibits P21-RAS expression in a primary human colon and rectal cell line.

Helicobacter pylori:
(The bacterium has certainly lived with humans for a long time, as it was also found in the stomach of a 1,800-year-old mummy in Chile; it also affects the defense system, allowing it to survive its carrier.)
Several studies have shown that certain flavonoids and C -vitamin inhibits the growth of the bacteria that cause the disease. The most suitable are: white and green tea extract, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), curcumin, which gives a yellow color to turmeric, luteolin extracted from celery and artichokes, also yellow luteolin, and quercetin in red wine.

Quercetin has been described to improve endothelium-dependent relaxation of the aorta, reduce systolic blood pressure, and reduce cardiac hypertrophy and proteinuria in hypertensive rats.
Kleemann et al. [35] reported the anti-inflammatory and antiatherogenic effects of quercetin and showed that short-term treatment for 14 days with dietary quercetin was able to completely quench the cytokine-induced expression of human C-reactive protein (CRP) in transgenic mice. Raising levels of CRP is an inflammatory marker that increases CVDs [35, 49]. Bhaskar et al. [50] examined the antiatherosclerostic properties of quercetin and found a worthy regression of atherosclerosis in the histopathological examination of aortic hypercholesterolemic rabbits supplemented with quercetin. This suggests the potential of quercetin as an alternative therapeutic agent for atherosclerosis and CVDs as well as hypertension and obesity that can lead to CVDs [50 – 52]. Camellia chinensis [53, 54], Allium fistulosumés Calamus scipionum [54], Moringa oleifera [17, 55], Centella asiatica [56],Hypericum hircinum [57] and Hypericum perforatum [58] have also been reported to have high quercetin.

Quercetin:
Quercetin is one of the most common flavonoids in the plant world. Blackberries, strawberries, nuts, corn, tea.

Hesperidin:
Flavonoids.
It is abundant mainly in citrus fruits.
Its most characteristic effect is vascular wall strengthening.
Gene expression studies have shown a significant antioxidant effect and free radical scavenging capacity.

In animal experiments, it increased the body’s ability to defend itself against sepsis (sepsis). In mice, for example, it suppressed the shock of infection in the case of salmonella infection in the abdominal cavity.
It greatly enhances the body’s anti-inflammatory activity and has also been shown to have an analgesic effect in the case of the hesperidin compound from orange peel: Hesperidin improved the edematous condition of the paw by 33% in rat experiments. In addition, Hesperidin inhibited the formation of secretions caused by pleurisy.

It has an antihypertensive effect: it was able to normalize hypertension in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
Improves serum cholesterol and lowers cholesterol: Significantly increases HDL and lowers LDL cholesterol. It showed cholesterol-lowering activity in experimental rats with hypercholesterolemia. Hypertension is very common in modern societies due to excessive dietary salt intake and the degree of psychosocial stress. The effects of these factors cannot be counterbalanced and tolerated by the body. Because of all this, high blood pressure is a strong risk in the development of heart failure and ventricular fibrosis.

In rat experiments, hyperlipidemic (much higher than average levels of fats in the body) showed a significant reduction in body fat and triglyceride levels. It is an important risk factor for atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases.

Inhibits bone loss: Postmenopausal osteoporosis has been modeled in mouse experiments. In the group diagnosed with hormone-induced advanced osteoporosis, a significant decrease in the number of osteoclast cells was observed as a result of hesperidin administration. The amount and thickness of the femur also increased. Increased bone structure density, i.e., hesperidin, was shown to inhibit osteoporosis.

There is significant current scientific interest in the neuroprotective effects of flavonoids.
One London study found a significant increase in the concentration of certain flavonoids (hesperidin, naringenin) in the brains of mice and rats as a function of time. That is, hesperidin is able to cross the blood-brain barrier. Argentine research has shown the beneficial sedative activity of hesperidin in the nervous system, affecting brain receptors (adenosine receptors) that are responsible for the sedative effect and the sensation of pain. One such opioid receptor in which hesperidin was able to block locomotor activity. Based on these, for example, hesperidine is of paramount importance in the treatment of insomnia.
It is able to block blood-brain passage and help with signaling processes.

Another 8-year study found that the three flavonols (kaempferol, quercetin, and myricetin) reduced pancreatic cancer by 23 percent.
A study of a diet involving nearly two hundred thousand people shows that a diet rich in flavonols reduces the risk of developing pancreatic cancer, especially in smokers. Flavonols (see our box) are concentrated primarily in the peel of fruits; the ingredients that cause the effect are found in all plant-based foods, but are mainly found in large quantities in onions, apples, berries, kale and broccoli. People who delivered large amounts of flavonol reduced their chances of developing a pancreatic tumor by 23 percent compared to those who barely ate such vegetables, pointed out Laurence Colonel, a researcher at the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii, a cancer research center in Hawaii.

Aim, methods , results, conclusions:

Purpose:
Myricetin, a common dietary flavonoid, is widely distributed in fruits and vegetables and is used as a health food supplement based on immune function, antioxidant, antitumor and anti-inflammatory properties. The aim was to investigate the effect of myricetin in combination with radiation therapy to increase radiation sensitivity in lung cancer A549 and H1299 cells.

Methods:

A549 cells and H1299 cells were exposed to X-ray with or without miricetin treatment. Colony formation assays, in the CCK-8 assay, by flow cytometry and caspase-3 leveling were used to evaluate the miricetin radiosensitizing activity for cell proliferation and apoptosis in vitro. The nude mouse tumor xenograft model was built to evaluate the effect of radiation sensitization with Myricetin in vivo.

Results:
Comparing the exposed group without miricetin treatment, the treated group had significantly miricetin suppressed survival fraction and cell proliferation, increased cell apoptosis and increased caspase-3 protein expression after X-ray exposure in vitro. And in an in vivo study, the tumor growth rate of xenografts was significantly reduced in mice treated with miricetin.

Conclusions:
The study showed both in vitro and in vivo evidence that the combination of Myricetin radiotherapy may increase tumor radiosensitivity in pulmonary H1299 carcinoma and A549 cells, and myricetin may be a potential radiosensitizer in lung cancer therapy.

Three different neuroprotective functions of myricetin against glutamate-induced neuronal cell death: Involvement of direct inhibition of caspase-3. Shimmyo Y 1, Kihara T, Akaike A, Niidome T, Sugimoto H.

Author information:
Abstract:
The stimulatory neurotransmitter glutamate can accumulate in the brain and is thought to be involved in the etiology of many neurodegenerative disorders, including ischemia and Alzheimer’s disease. Therefore, it is important to look for compounds that reduce glutamate neurotoxicity. This glutamate-mediated excitotoxicity is caused by intracellular Ca2 + overload through the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR), reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, and caspase-3 activation. Here, we show that the natural flavonoid myricetin inhibited glutamate-induced excitotoxicity and protected neurons by several different mechanisms. First, Myricetin affected modulation of NMDAR phosphorylation, leading to a subsequent reduction in glutamate-induced intracellular Ca2 + overload. Second, myricetin inhibited ROS-induced glutamate. Finally, glutamate-induced activation of caspase-3 decreased with miricetin treatment. Moreover, myricetin directly interacts with the active site of caspase-3 through three hydrogen bonds and inhibits its activity. We concluded that myricetin inhibited glutamate-induced neural toxicity by multiple biochemical routes. These results indicate that miricetin is a potent antineurodegenerative compound and may contribute to the discovery of a drug that can combat neurodegeneration. These results indicate that miricetin is a potent antineurodegenerative compound and may contribute to the discovery of a drug that can combat neurodegeneration. These results indicate that miricetin is a potent antineurodegenerative compound and may contribute to the discovery of a drug that can combat neurodegeneration.
